What is The Princeton Hot Seat?

The Princeton Hot Seat is a new recurring photo blog to highlight the transient nature of the rowing community in the Princeton, New Jersey area.  It's open to anyone directly involved with the sport of rowing that comes to Princeton on rowing "business".  Could be rowers, coxswains, coaches, boatmen, officials, etc.

How does the Hot Seat Work?

Each subject gets four questions to answer, the first of which is simply, why are you here (in Princeton)?  Then the subject randomly draws the remaining three from a pool of pre-determined questions, of which half are rowing related, half are not...and can be pretty random.  They get one pass.

On the Hot Seat today is Molly Hamrick.

Princeton Hot Seat - Why are you in Princeton?

Molly Hamrick - I'm in Princeton now because I want to represent the United States in international competition.  I train here and at Riverside BC in Boston, then before that I rowed at Princeton University.

PHS - If you could only watch three movies for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

MH -  Probably Away We Go, with John Krasinski.  Baby Mama with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, which is very underrated but awesome.  Then I really like the movie Garden State.

PHS - What is your least favorite erg workout?

MH - Any number of 1ks pieces.  They're short enough that you have to go really hard, but long enough where you have to spend a long time in the pain cave.  The worst is when you do it with a partner and are never actually resting since you have to hurry up and get off the erg for the other person.

PHS - What is your dream boat to row in?

MH - I would love to race a Fat Cat eight with all the girls that are still training for our respective national teams.  So that would be (in no particular order): myself, Kate Bertko, Sara Hendershot, Gevvie Stone, Caroline Lind, Heidi Robbins, Lauren Wilkinson, Kelly Pierce and then Ari Frost would cox us.
